Living in Los Angeles, or any other overly crowded city for that matter, it’s no secret how easy it is to get caught up in traffic. I’m talking specifically in the morning and afternoon hours when we’re all making our commutes to and from work. The drives are long and tiring, but for a while now I’ve found that listening to podcasts are a great way to alleviate the headaches. For those fascinated by data analytics and data visualization, these could be the top 5 podcasts for you.
Lead by Enrico Bertini and Moritz Stefaner, Data Stories is a podcast that examines current developments in data visualization, analytics, and similar topics. I recommend them for anyone new to these ideas, and for those of you looking for a bit of humor along the way.
Mico Yuk and Ryan Goodman created this new podcast with the goal of making business intelligence more available for data-driven decision making. Although new, they have interviewed some great leaders in data visualization and BI.
Jon Schwabish operates this one; speaking on technology, presentation design, presentation skills, open data, and data visualization. Being that his first guest was Alberto Cairo, this podcast sparked my interest right away. They’re short episodes but the topics are very interesting.
4. Data Skeptic
This is a good starting point for those of you looking to explore the basics of data science and machine learning. It alternates between short knowledge-based episodes and longer interview style ones. Kyle Polich does a great job with his segments.
This one usually goes out biweekly, and I have to say Lea Pica really knows her stuff. Her podcast is great for a BI or analytics professional looking to broaden their insight, because it features guests that are experts in analytics and visualization.
These are just a few of the podcasts I find entertaining pertaining to the topic. Tell me what your favorite one is, even if it is not on this list. I am always looking for the next great podcast to expand my knowledge and complement my commutes!
